WMAR ABC2 Launches 2 Cans For Kids Food Drive
WMAR ABC2, Columbia Academy, and the Maryland Food Bank are teaming up to keep Baltimore area children from going hungry with the 2 Cans For Kids Food Drive!
More than 503,000 people in the Maryland Food Bank’s service area are currently food insecure, lacking access to sufficient amounts of nutritious food. Of that number, approximately 179,000 are children.
Throughout the month of September you are encouraged to drop off items such as canned fruits, canned vegetables, tuna, peanut butter, breakfast items, etc. to help local children in need.
For more donation suggestions and a list of drop off locations, please visit abc2news.com/fooddrive.
About WMAR & Scripps – WMAR-TV was the nation’s 11th (and Maryland’s first) television station to sign on-the-air in 1947. The station has been the site of many technological breakthroughs: first with a color film processor for television news and production, and the first zoom camera lens for film and tape cameras. WMAR is owned by the E.W. Scripps Company.
