Columbia Academy Launches School-Age Distance Learning Support Program

August 26, 2020

Change is difficult for most people, especially children. It can be stressful, but we know that it is a part of life, so we continue to move forward and adapt. 2020 has seen many changes, not only in education but in our way of life. With back-to-school season now upon us, the 2020-21 school year brings with it many changes and is going to look a bit different than what we are used to.

Columbia Academy is here to help with your family’s educational and child care needs. In addition to the on-campus learning taking place at our Elementary and Middle School and in our preschools, we are pleased to offer a Distance Learning Support Program for school-age children who will be learning virtually during the 2020-21 school year. Students will be able to remain plugged in to their school communities and engage, communicate, and collaborate with their teachers and peers on a daily basis. Our school-age certified teachers will provide assistance and motivation throughout the day while following your child’s specific e-learning schedule.

We have been educating children ages 6 weeks through 8th grade for nearly 30 years. Our school-age certified teachers have the expertise and training to support children in Kindergarten through 8th grade with their distance learning needs, while also providing a safe place where their social, emotional, and academic development will thrive.

Our School-Age Distance Learning Support Program will complement your child’s specific distance learning schedule while also providing engaging activities during non-academic times. This program offers a return to normalcy for your school-age children, with stringent health and safety protocols in place to give parents peace of mind.

This program is being offered at 2 locations:

Maple Lawn – 7425 Maple Lawn Blvd., Fulton MD 20759

Thunder Hill – 9210 Route 108, Columbia MD 21045

2020-21 School-Age Distance Learning Support Program begins September 8, 2020 and runs Mon.-Fri. from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The cost is $300/week. Children will bring their own electronic device, fully charged, each day. Children will bring a nut-free lunch from home. Columbia Academy will provide daily snacks.
