I have been with Columbia Academy at Kings Contrivance for the last 5 years. My son was born in 2014 and, having been a former early childhood educator and daycare center Assistant Director myself, I did not take the task of finding quality child care for my child lightly. I visited 13 different daycare centers in the area and it was not until I walked into Columbia Academy that I felt like I had found a good fit for my son and our family. The facility was secure, clean, bright, and spacious. The teacher who would be caring for my son was experienced, pleasant, and acknowledged him during our walk through. We were added to the waitlist for the infant room and thankfully got a call 2 weeks before I had to return to work from maternity leave. Over the next 5 years, as my son moved from room to room, he thrived in all areas of his development. When he graduated from the 4s program this summer, he was reading level 2 and 3 books, writing, and doing addition and subtraction. The center Director and Assistant Directors have always been great at communicating with parents and have promptly addressed any concerns we ever had. My husband and I were so pleased with the care our son got, that my daughter, who was born in 2018, is also currently enrolled at the center in the toddler program with the same teacher my son had. We couldn’t be more confident that she will have the same level of high-quality care, growth, and success that he did. The staff and teachers at Columbia Academy have truly become like an extended family to us, and there are no words to express the thanks we have to all of them for taking care of our children and helping them to grow and thrive.
