Columbia Academy Pre-School to Open at Maple Lawn in Fulton, Maryland, Fall 2008

Columbia, MD – Patti and Tom Kincaid of Columbia Academy are pleased to announce that their newest location, in the community of Maple Lawn in Fulton, Maryland, will open in the Fall of 2008.


Columbia Academy at Maple Lawn features over 13,000 square feet of space designed to comfortably and safely educate and care for 174 students. Thirteen different classrooms will hold students aging in range from infants to 4 year olds. Columbia Academy at Maple Lawn will employee a full time staff of 34 and a part-time staff of 10 on the main floor with almost 3,000 square feet of the second floor dedicated to training facilities and corporate activities.


Columbia Academy is a private school providing exceptional care and instruction for children in Howard County, Maryland. Four pre-school locations offer care for children age six weeks through pre kindergarten and the Elementary and Middle School serves children from Kindergarten through eighth grade.


Special features of the school include an 800 square foot indoor multi-purpose room with a rubber floor and several play areas, some of which will feature astro turf or shredded tires. The interior walls of the school and the exterior playground will be decorated with a theme celebrating the Maple Lawn community and the original Maple Lawn Farms.


Maple Lawn is a new mixed use community located in Fulton, MD at the intersection of Route 29 and Route 216. The 570 acre community, built by Greenebaum and Rose Associates, boasts a wide range of homestyles and prices in a pedestrian friendly neighborhood that features commercial and recreational amenities.
